Gary Pinto (born in Melbourne) is an Australian singer, songwriter and musician. ==Career== Gary Pinto is an Australian musician of Indian descent.〔(CapuchinFriars site: A Multicultural Celebration of Faith – The Gary Pinto Band )〕 His parents were from Chennai and members of a minority Christian Indian Catholics. The family immigrated to Australia in 1973 where Gary was born. Gary Pinto was a lead singer of the Australian R&B and dance group CDB alongside his brother Brad Pinto,〔 as well as Andrew De Silva and Danny Williams. Jude Nicholas joined the group when De Silva left. The band formed in 1991 had two albums, ''Glide with Me'' and ''CDB'' and a number of singles, most notably "Hook Me Up", "Hey Girl (This Is Our Time)", both Top 20 hits for them and "Let's Groove", a cover of an Earth, Wind & Fire song.〔(Second Hand Songs: "Let's Groove" page )〕 The CDB release of the song reached No. 2 on the Australian Singles Chart. The band split up in 1999 Gary Pinto has moved on to perform as a solo artist. He has since worked co-writing and/or performing with artists including Guy Sebastian, Anthony Callea, Mr Timothy, Christine Anu, Jimmy Barnes, Jade MacRae, Taylor Dayne〔 and the German pop band Monrose. In August 2010, he released his solo album ''Take Back Our World'' with contributions from Diesel, Dave Darling, Brad Pinto and Meredith Brooks..
